ArtsEmerson’s 2012-2013 Season to Feature Work by Anne Bogart, The Civilians
ArtsEmerson has announced its third theatre season, which begins in September of 2012. The organization is announcing eight productions now, with more to be added later.
To begin the season, Paris Commune by the Civilians (created by Steven Cosson and Michael Friedman) will run on the Paramount Center Mainstage on September 20 and 21.
Les 7 doigts de la main will present Sequence 8 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre from September 27-October 7. It will be directed by Shana Carroll and Sébastien Soldevila, and is a co-production with Les Nuits de Fourvière/Département du Rhône, Lyon (Fr) and TOHU (Montréal, Canada).
From October 9 through 21, Hamlet, presented by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, will run on the Paramount Center Mainstage. Dominic Dromgoole and Bill Buckhurst direct.
La belle et la bête (Beauty and the Beast), presented by Lemieux Pilon 4D Art, will run on the Paramount Center Mainstage from December 5 through 9. This production is conceived and directed by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, with text by Pierre Yves Lemieux.
The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, adapted by Constance Congdon from a translation by Christina Sibul, will run January 29–February 10, 2013 at the Paramount Center Mainstage. Christopher Bayes will direct. Servant Truffaldino will be played by actor Steven Epp.
From February 27–March 3, 2013, Metamorphosis, presented by Vesturport Theatre and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, will run on the Paramount Center Mainstage. Metamorphosis is adapted and directed by Gisli Örn Gardarsson and David Farr, with music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
ArtsEmerson presents The New York Public Theater’s production of Neva, written and directed by Guillermo Calderón, to run April 3 – 7 at The Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre at the Paramount Center. This is the premier English language production.
Trojan Women (After Euripides), created and performed by SITI Company, will run from April 17-20, 2013, at the Paramount Center Mainstage. Trojan Women is adapted by Jocelyn Clarke and directed by Anne Bogart.
