Two-time Tony Award winner John Lithgow will perform his solo show, Stories By Heart as a benefit for American Repertory Theatre on Monday, May 2 at 7:30pm at the Loeb Drama Center.

Lithgow’s show is a meditation on the art and essence of storytelling. Invoking memories of his grandmother and father, the performer traces his own history as an actor and storyteller – a history spanning three generations. The piece features both P.G. Wodehouse’s Uncle Fred Flits By and Ring Lardner’s Haircut.

Lithgow recently starred Off-Broadway in Second Stage’s Mr. and Mrs. Fitch. He won Tony Awards for his work in Sweet Smell of Success and The Changing Room. He was also Tony-nominated for his performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, M. Butterfly, and Requiem for a Heavyweight. Lithgow is well known for his starring role in the TV series Third Rock from the Sun, for which he received three Emmys, a Golden Globe, two SAG awards, and The American Comedy Award.
