Andrew Long, Jane Pfitsch to Star in Huntington Theatre Company’s Educating Rita

Andrew Long and Jane Pfitsch will star in Willy Russell’s Educating Rita, to run March 11 – April 10 at the Huntington Theatre Company. Maria Aitken will direct the production.

Educating Rita is a two-character comedy that explores what it really means to be educated, when a disillusioned, alcoholic teacher and a passionate, street-wise student cross paths.

Long’s many stage credits include The Misanthrope and Swansong Off-Broadway and regional appearances at such theaters as the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Arena Stage and the Oregon Shakespeare festival, among others. Pfitsch appeared in Company and Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway and The 39 Steps, Pumpgirl and Little Duck, Off-Broadway.

The creative team will include Allen Moyer (scenic design), Nancy Brennan (costume design), Joel E. Silver (lighting design), and John Gromada (sound design and original music).
