New Rep to Present Cyrano On Tour

New Repertory Theatre On Tour will close its season with a three-player adaptation of Edmund Rostand’s Cyrano, (March 4 – April 13). Directed by Doug Lockwood, the tour will stop at Boston area schools with public performances on March 15 and March 17.

In the show, Cyrano is a soulful poet/philosopher and brilliant swordsman in love with the beautiful, strong-willed Roxane, but is too ashamed of his large nose to tell her. Instead, when he learns that she loves the handsome Christian, his dim-witted Army comrade, he pens poetry and love letters to Roxane on Christian’s behalf.

The cast for this tour will feature Robert Kropf, Paul Melendy, and Rebecca Zaretzky. The creative team includes Jesse Beecher (set design), and Eric Propp (costume design).

New Rep On Tour brings productions of relevant plays to area schools, in accordance with DOE Curriculum frameworks, as 90-minute adaptations. Following each performance, the artists lead a talkback session.
