Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason will host the Huntington Theatre Company’s 2012 Spotlight Spectacular gala, to be held at the Park Plaza Hotel Ballroom on Monday, April 2, beginning at 6pm.

The evening will honor 30-year managing director Michael Maso with the Wimberly Award. Yvette Freeman, who as previously reported will star as the legendary blues singer Ma Rainey in Huntington’s upcoming production of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, will perform.

Gleason appeared in the Huntington’s 2011 world premiere production of Sons of the Prophet, which was remounted Off-Broadway by Roundabout Theatre Company last fall. She won the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critic’s Circle Award for her performance in the original Broadway production of Into the Woods. She was also Tony-nominated for her performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Joe Egg.

Individual gala tickets begin at $500; table sponsorships begin at $7,500. For more information, or to purchase, call 617-273-1536.
