Christopher Walken will be given Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Award for his “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment” on February 15.

Walken has appeared in over a dozen Broadway shows including The Rose Tattoo, for which he received the Theatre World Award, Sweet Bird of Youth, Hurlyburly, and James Joyce’s The Dead, for which he received a Tony Award nomination.

He won the Oscar for his role as a troubled Vietnam veteran in The Deer Hunter and received a nomination for Catch Me If You Can. Most recently, he played the role of Wilbur Turnblad in the film version of Hairspray, for which he was part of the Critics Choice Award-winning ensemble, and co-starred opposite Tony winner Dan Fogler in Balls of Fury.

Academy Award winner Charlize Theron will also receive the group’s award on February 7.
