WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
After stunning audiences with wordless adaptations of Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet, the wildly inventive Synetic Theater tackles one of Shakespeare's most renowned comedies with signature bravado and dramatic physicality. Synetic's Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, artistic director and resident choreographer, have honed a performance style that synthesizes classical elements of drama, movement, dance, mime, and music into a unique brand of physical theatre. While the verse is missing, the proceedings are anything but silent -- with a combination of subtlety and daredevil acrobatics, the Bard's fantastical, darkly playful game of love, mistaken identity, and the supernatural is brought to vibrant new life. This performance is made possible by the W. Ford Schumann '50 Endowment for the Arts and the Lipp Family Fund for Performing Artists.
