WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

A Class Act was nominated for 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical and 3 Drama Desk Awards. This small musical with a big heart is a tribute to Edward Kleban, one of the collaborators of A Chorus Line. It's a behind the scenes glimpse of the joy and struggle that go into making music soar. A Class Act is performed by The Unicorn Company, BTF's Pre-Professional Acting Company

Ross Baum is terrific as Ed Kleban (online reviews rave "not enough superlatives available," "truly superb," "A Star is Born"). With only five rows of seats, the audience has an intimate view of his eagerness and his frustration in a career that only had one big success. His song "Paris Through the Window" poignantly evokes a youth's discovery of the artistic. Tessa Hope Slovis is fun to watch as a supremely confident, young record-company executive; Marie Eife does a delightful seduction scene; and Eddie Shields transforms himself into a commanding Michael Bennett.
