Shakespeare & Company‘s Rose Footprint Theatre will present the world-premiere adaption of Aphra Behn's Restoration farce The Emperor of the Moon, directed by Jenna Ware. Performances are set to run from July 15-August 20.

"Emperor gives us the joyous desperation of thwarted love, sword fights with flourish, disguises and imaginary accents," says director and adapter Jenna Ware. "The random chase scenes and intentional silliness fills the stage and spills over into the audience and the surrounding fields. The energy of the actors, experience of outdoor theater and triumph of true love is pure delight."

The cast features Shakespeare & Company veterans Greg Boover, Caroline Calkins, Lori Evans, Colin Gold, Kaileela Hobby, Marcus Kearns, Caitlin Kraft, Zoe Laiz, Conor Seamus Moroney, and Concetta Russo, along with newcomers Dara Silverman and Ashton Muniz.

The creative team includes Emma Ayres (composer), Brianna Wells (costume designer), and Jonathan Croy (fight choreographer).
