Tony Award winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur) and stage and screen vet Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane) will return to Broadway in Daniel Aukin's production of Sam Shepard's Fool For Love. Originally presented this past summer at Williamstown Theatre Festival, the drama begins performances September 15, 2015 at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, with opening night set for October 8.

Fool for Love, which premiered off-Broadway in 1983 and makes its Broadway premiere, follows a pair of former lovers who unpack their relationship in a seedy Mojave Desert motel. Arianda and Rockwell appeared in the Williamstown production, which also starred Christopher Abbott and Gordon Joseph Weiss and featured designs by Dane Laffrey (set), Anita Yavich (costumes), Justin Townsend (lighting), and Ryan Rumery (sound). Full casting and creative team for the Broadway mounting will be revealed in the coming months.

Manhattan Theatre Club also announced that it will present the world premiere of Ripcord, a new comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire, at its New York City Center – Stage I space beginning September 29 and opening October 20.

Directed by David Hyde Pierce, the play stars Tony winner Mary Louise Wilson (Grey Gardens) as Abby, a cantankerous tenant at the Bristol Palace Assisted Living Facility, who is forced to share her quarters with the infuriatingly chipper Marilyn (Drama Desk winner Marylouise Burke), and turns their relationship into a dangerous game of one-upmanship. Additional information will be revealed in the coming months.
