The Williamstown Cast of The Bridges of Madison County Sits Down for a Sitzprobe

Get a sneak preview of Jason Robert Brown’s Broadway-bound score at the first orchestra rehearsal with The Bridges of Madison County.

If you’re rusty on your show-cabulary, in theater speak, a sitzprobe refers to the first time a musical’s cast and orchestra rehearse together— though, for us, it means a first chance to hear Drama Desk Award winner Jason Robert Brown’s brilliant new Broadway score.

Steven Pasquale (Rescue Me) and Elena Shaddow (The Light in the Piazza) star as National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid and the beautiful Italian Francesca Johnson in Williamstown‘s pre-Broadway production of the classic love story The Bridges of Madison County, running from August 1-18 on the main stage (Kelli O’Hara will join Pasquale in January for the Broadway run).

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the world premiere production’s first orchestra rehearsal, along with a musical preview of JRB and Tony Award-winning book writer Marsha Norman’s upcoming Broadway collaboration.
