Casting has been announced for Berkshire Playwrights Lab's July 23 reading of Philip Gerson's Apeshit at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Bob Jaffee directs the reading.

Tom Bloom, Adam W. Green, Lou Liberatore, and Molly Ward star in the work, which finds a renowned primate research taken hostage by an animal rights activist who is determined to free the researcher's prized chimpanzee.

As previously announced, the reading series will continue on August 8 with James DeMarse's Existing Privilege, directed by Matthew Penn. The series began with Jeff Zinn's production of Gino Dilorio's Release Point, read on July 11 and featuring Miranda Shea, Dina Thomas, and Bates Wilder.
