Campbell Scott, John Rando, et al. to Direct Readings for Williamstown Theatre Festival

The Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced the lineup of new plays to be read as part of its Fridays@3 reading series. The readings will take place at the Paresky Center on the Williams College campus, on Friday afternoons from July 2 to August 6 at 3pm.

The series will open with Campbell Scott directing writer/performer Michael Warner’s How. What. Now. (July 2), which is to include “stories of Redemption and Hope, Killing Gophers, and how Bubble Gum Pop can save your life.” Scott will play the Stage Manager later this summer in Williamstown’s production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town

Other works in the reading series are The Substance of Bliss by Tony Glazer (July 9); Good on Paper by Michele Lowe (July 16); Midnight Sun, by Chris Eigeman, directed by Steve Lawson (July 23); Elemeno Pea by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Amanda Charlton (July 30); and Knock Down Drag Out, by Kyle Jarrow, directed by John Rando (August 6).
