Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced its 2014 season lineup of productions on the Nikos Stage.
Samuel D. Hunter's A Great Wilderness will receive its East Coast premiere, running from July 9-20. The play follows a Christian retreat leader, whose job entails "curing" gay teens, as he reluctantly prepares for retirement. His moral compass, however, comes into question when his final client disappears into the remote Idaho wilderness.
Sam Shepard's Fool for Love, directed by Daniel Aukin, will follow with a run from July 24-August 3. Lauren Ambrose and Chris Pine will star as two former lovers, holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, as they unpack the deep secrets of their tangled relationship.
The Old Man and the Old Moon, written by PigPen Theatre Co., will close out the season on the Nikos Stage with a run from August 6-17. Stuart Carden directs the fantastical, song-filled tale about an old man who abandons the task of filling the moon with liquid light to search for his missing wife.
