WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Holiday wishes will certainly come true as The Long Center presents the Charles H. Duggan production A Texas Christmas Carol, a musical variety celebration of the holidays, featuring the talents of PBS stars The Biscuit Brothers and recording artist Tish Hinojosa. This unique, all-Austin production brings together onstage for the first time many of Austin's celebrated talents and arts organizations including the Amazing Grace Gospel, Austin Lyric Opera, Austin Classical Guitar Society, Ballet Austin, James Bowie High School Silver Stars, River City Brass Quintet , The Tosca String Quartet, Tapestry Dance Company and the Zachary Scott Theater Showstoppers , with special intermission performances by the St. Martin's Ringers handbell choir and a video visit from KVUE's Mark Murray. Special guest artists at selected performances will include concert pianist Anton Nel, classical guitarist Matthew Hinsley and Russian-born violinist Stanislav Pronin. This is truly your "One-Stop Holiday Show" and promises to be an experience your family will not forget. Audience members of all ages will thrill to the March of Toys, the meltdown of poor Frosty the Snow Man, the charm of the Posada story, the sheer joy to the world of Gospel singing, tap-dancing Christmas Trees, the magnificence of the sing-along "Hallelujah Chorus" and the wonders of a Nine-Minute Nutcracker. Will it be a white Christmas after all in Austin, Texas? You won't want to miss the grand finale!
