Bob Martin, Chad Begulin, Matthew Sklar, and Casey Nicholaw, the team behind the Broadway musical Elf, will reunite when the pre-Broadway production of The Prom has its world premiere in August at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre.

The Broadway-bound musical tells the story of Emma, a student who makes national headlines when her high school cancels the prom rather than let her attend with her girlfriend. When a group of fading celebrities takes up the cause and invades Emma's small Indiana town, their bumbling attempts at social activism make the situation far worse anyone could ever have expected. The production is directed and choreographed by Tony winner Nicholaw, with a book by Martin and Beguelin, and a score by Beguelin and Sklar. It is based on an original concept by Jack Virtel.

Caitlin Kinnunen (The Bridges of Madison County) heads the cast as Emma, alongside Tony winner Beth Leavel, who worked with Martin and Nicholaw on The Drowsy Chaperone and the whole creative team on Elf. Also in the company are Tony nominees Christopher Sieber and Brooks Ashmanskas, Anna Grace Barlow, Martin Moran, Angie Schworer, Courtenay Collins, and Clayton Landey.
