The Alliance Theatre has teamed up with Broadway Dreams Foundation and ArtsBridge Foundation, two premier arts education programs, to honor Tony-winning director Casey Nicholaw for his outstanding contribution to the American musical theater.

A musical celebration will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 31, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.

"All three of our organizations share in the effort to build the next generation of artists, audiences, and supporters of this beloved art form," said Susan V. Booth, Alliance Theatre Jennings Hertz artistic director. "We have all witnessed the power that musical theatre can have in bringing together our Atlanta community, and we are thrilled to bring everyone together in support and recognition of Mr. Nicholaw’s brilliant career."

The event, Celebrating Casey Nicholaw, will include performances from Nicholaw's Alliance Theatre world-premiere production of Tuck Everlasting, featuring Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Robert Lenzi, Sarah Charles Lewis, and Michael Park. The program will also offer musical performances by young Atlanta-area performers.

Nicholaw has earned a total of six Tony Award nominations for his direction and choreography of some of Broadway's most popular musicals including Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone, Aladdin, and The Book of Mormon, which earned him his first Tony win. He returns to Broadway this spring at the helm of Something Rotten!
