Hailed as the most prodigiously gifted choreographer of the post-Balanchine era, Mark Morris has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma and Baryshnikov and choreographed more than 100 works for American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet and his own group of dancers. His once-controversial works, highly visual and musical, are set to everything from baroque and country-western music to rock. He is, as the Los Angeles Times has said, "intensely musical, deceptively cerebral, insinuatingly sensual and fabulously funky."

With his own music ensemble sharing the stage, Mark Morris' dancers will perform Italian Concerto (music by J.S. Bach); Silhouettes, a competitive and playful duet; Candleflowerdance (music by Stravinsky); Excursions (music by Samuel Barber); and Grand Duo, a tribal group piece inspired by Lou Harrison's thrilling score.
