The Emelin Theatre has announced its 2009-2010 season.

The year will be bookended with performances of The News in Revue (October 24 and June 5), the topical off-Broadway show that has become a PBS special. Vincent Dowling's staging of The Rivalry, Norman Corwin's exploration of the Lincoln/Douglas debates, will be presented November 13-14.

In the new year, the theater will present Bronx Kiss (February 4-7), an evening of John Patrick Shanley's short plays, followed by the Aquila Theatre's production of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People (March 13-14). The season will be rounded out with Hell Meets Henry Halfway (May 6-8), a Gothic mystery laced with nihilism by Witold Gombrowicz presented by Philadelphia's Pig Iron Theatre.

In addition to these productions, the theater will offer special one-night only events including an Inside Shakespeare with the Shakespeare Society (October 1), a look at how the Bard's work moves from the page to the stage, and The Really Big Once (December 3), a workshop presentation from New York's Target Margin Theatre.
