Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L'Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. It has production design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge and sound by Martin Levan. Musical staging and choreography is by Gillian Lynne. Orchestrations are by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The touring cast also includes Trista Moldovan as Christine Daaé, Sean MacLaughlin as Raoul, Kim Stengel as Carlotta Giudicelli, D.C. Anderson as Monsieur André, Michael McCoy as Monsieur Firmin, John Whitney as Ubaldo Piangi, and Jessi Ehrlich as Meg. At certain performances, Kelly Jeanne Grant plays the role of Christine.
Gleason first joined the National Tour in 2001 as an ensemble member, and quickly moved to the role of Raoul, which he played on tour for three years prior to joining the Broadway production in the part. He starred as Raoul in the original cast of the Vegas production before returning to the Broadway company, where he also covered the role of The Phantom.
