Working tirelessly for over ten years to build tricky and entrancing dance rhythms as a group, the instrumental "post-rock" band STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) has built a sturdy fan base out of San Fransisco, Boulder and Atlanta. Melting hip hop with rhythmic funk and a jam band aesthetic, Sound Tribe uses midi keyboards, laptops, bass and drums to build and accent the beat while simultaneously melting face with guitar. Seeing them perform is a full art experience - music you've never dreamed of, dance moves you never knew you had and frequent unpredictable live art performances (including an improvised light show each night). They resist classification and thrive on constant change and, when listening, you can't escape the adventure.
