WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Silken Veils is a turbulent, sometimes humorous tale of the strength and weaknesses of love and revolution. Combining Rumi poetry, marionettes, bunraku puppets and animation with live performance creator Leila Ghaznavi tells the story of Darya, an Iranian born American, struggling with love while reliving her childhood in Iran during the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and the Iran-Iraq war.
This show is presented as part of the Chicago Fringe Festival.

Outstanding use of scrim, costuming, script, marionettes, music, and hypnotic flow. Not always sure what was going on, but the design of this program was top drawer.
