WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The first annual Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival celebrates the life and work of one of America's foremost literary figures, Tennessee Williams, and his relatively unknown but deep connection to Provincetown. The four-day festival features Williams' work in various genres including film, dance, poetry, photography, music and plays, including:

Performances of plays by professional companies from around the world
Performances of new plays written for the festival by local authors
A Williams film retrospective including famous classics and new adaptations
Walking tours of Provincetown sites where Williams lived and wrote
A celebration of Williams' lyric poetry with live music
Readings of Williams' short stories by local celebrities
Gallery exhibitions of related artwork

Events take place at various locations including The Provincetown Theater, The Schoolhouse Galleries, Provincetown High School, Fisherman's Wharf, the Commons Bistro and more.
