New York is the only city in the world that can combine a rich number of Jewish institutions, a plethora of venues and synagogues, and a very large diverse Jewish population. The inaugural 2004 Festival demonstrated the powerful opportunity of bringing together the many different parts of the Jewish community, from Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx to dance as one during the festival.

The 2005 festival will run for 10 days and includes over 60 concerts in prestigious concert halls, venues and synagogues. It culminates in a large outdoor all-day free event for thousands of people. This unique event is able to reach a broad audience - young and old, religious and unaffiliated - and will facilitate a shared connection through the universal language of music.
