WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Metro Chamber Orchestra presents the finale of their sixth season. Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the death of Franz Joseph Haydn, the orchestra led by artistic director, Philip Nuzzo, will feature 2 of his works. The rarely heard Double concerto for piano and violin will be played by orchestra concert master Una Tone and Metro Chamber Orchestra favorite Christopher Vath. Principal cellist Christine Kim will join the orchestra in the delightful Concerto in C a Haydn staple. The program rounds out with two great scenes by Richard Strauss from his opera "Salome" The Dance of the Seven Veils and the final monologue. IN keeping with the orchestra's tradition of presenting larger works re-orchestrated these sections have been reduced for chamber orchestra by Kyle Lane and Jonathan Fields. Soprano Therese Panicali a regular with the orchestra will sing the demanding final scene.
