WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

A wonderful dark comedy about a woman whose perfect man turns out to be a hitman. This is an unlikely love story with a deadly twist.

"Desperate Affection is a comic look at how ridiculously extreme people can be and how much they will sacrifice for the chance at true love." - Variety

"I can convey no finer praise than that this bouncing babe of a second act...is a truly honest ending…Take my word for it: you will walk out of the theater slightly dazed by the outcome...The boy-girl comedy has become a bona-fide thriller." - Philadelphia Daily News

"Desperate Affection...is one of the sharpest, funniest, most deliciously perverse new plays I've seen in a long time...Graham has fashioned a comic gem...the overall experience as satisfying as any play anywhere in the past few years." - Twin Cities Reader

RE:A deadly love story?
Royce Gallery is a gallery that on the evenings transforms itself into a theater. The gallery has a capacity of 40 people, theater style. If you have never been to a small independent theater, that is the place to start. Unlike big commercial productions, small independent productions offer a more intimate atmosphere that allows you at least mentally to become part of a play. The play, Desperate Affection by Bruce Graham, is a funny. and witty play. The actors, Mellisa and Cliff, and the producer/director Andrey Esterlis do a great job of bringing the play to the stage. The characters are so absurd in their view of the world that one cannot stop belly laughing for much of the play. I, personally, was so impressed by the play, that at the end of the play I bought 2 more tickets for my friends to see the play. This is a must see production. You will definitely enjoy it., and as a side benefit, you will support the independent theater.
