There's fun for the whole family as the circus comes to town as part of the 2006 Berkeley Festival & Exhibition. Le Poème Harmonique and Le National des Arts du Cirque join forces to bring the American premiere of Baroque Carnival to Berkeley, recreating on stage all the splendor of the famed Carnival season in 17th-century Rome. Enter a world of enchantment and merrymaking with this precursor to the modern circus, complete with tumblers, jugglers, period musicians, and singers.

This event is part of the 2006 Berkeley Festival & Exhibition (June 4-11) featuring 10 main stage performances, dozens of Fringe events, and a host of Early Music activities.
