Founded in 1999 to connect the theater industry with a mass consumer audience, TheaterMania.com features comprehensive listings, news, reviews, interviews and video content. TheaterMania.com widely distributes email newsletters and special offers to its subscribers, and provides online marketing programs and ticketing services to performing arts organizations, museums, concerts, festivals, events and sports teams across the nation through its proprietary ticketing system, OvationTix.
Gretchen joined TheaterMania.com in January 2001 after serving as advisor to the company through her position as President of eMediaCapital LLC, an investment bank advisory firm specializing in the media and Internet industries. She founded eMediaCapital in 1999, following an eighteen-year career in banking, most recently as Senior Vice President, Communications Equity Associates, as well as Chase Bank, Manufacturers Hanover and Bank of Montreal. She arranged and led financings for media and telecommunications companies. Gretchen holds a BS degree in Economics and Management from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Darren conceived and, along with producer Joe Corcoran, co-founded TheaterMania.com in early 1999. While working with several theater productions to market and sell tickets on the Internet he identified the need for a consumer destination site for theater information and tickets, and assembled a team of experienced theater journalists, programmers and marketing professionals to launch the site. Previously, Darren worked in the music industry promoting concerts and tours, and developed online marketing and sales programs during the early days of the Internet. He also founded a successful retail/wholesale apparel business, which was sold in 1996. Darren has a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Ira joined TheaterMania.com in December 2013 after many years in the digital media industry. He spent ten years at Time Inc., starting as a developer and eventually managing all software development for Time's many websites. After Time, Ira served as VP, Engineering for Buddy Media, a company focused on social networking and associated technologies. Before joining TheaterMania.com, Ira was Vice President, Internet Technology at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia where he led both Internet software development and technology operations. Ira holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.B.A. in Computer Information Systems, as well as various continuing professional certifications.
