Gretchen Shugart
Chief Executive Officer
Gretchen joined TheaterMania.com in January 2001 after serving as advisor to the company through her position as President of eMediaCapital LLC, an investment bank advisory firm specializing in the media and Internet industries. She founded eMediaCapital in 1999, following an eighteen-year career in banking, most recently as Senior Vice President, Communications Equity Associates, as well as Chase Bank, Manufacturers Hanover and Bank of Montreal. She arranged and led financings for media and telecommunications companies. Gretchen holds a BS degree in Economics and Management from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Darren Sussman
President
Darren conceived and, along with producer Joe Corcoran, co-founded TheaterMania.com in early 1999. While working with several theater productions to market and sell tickets on the Internet he identified the need for a consumer destination site for theater information and tickets, and assembled a team of experienced theater journalists, programmers and marketing professionals to launch the site. Previously, Darren worked in the music industry promoting concerts and tours, and developed online marketing and sales programs during the early days of the Internet. He also founded a successful retail/wholesale apparel business, which was sold in 1996. Darren has a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Brian Scott Lipton

Brian has been a contributor to TheaterMania for six years, and previously served as Executive Editor. In his 19-year journalism career, Brian has written and edited for such publications as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, W, Art & Auction, DNR, The New York Post, IN New York, Encore, and Accent. He is an adjunct faculty member at both New York University and Metropolitan College of New York. Brian is a graduate of NYU Law School and Tufts University.
David Stanke
Chief Technology Officer
Prior to joining TheaterMania.com in February 2002, David was vice president of Goldcap, a New York-based development firm specializing in Internet applications. Previously, he was the creative director of Silicon Alley Reporter magazine. He has also served as a technology consultant to companies including Vivendi Universal and iN DEMAND Pay-per-view. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brown University.

Dan Bacalzo
Managing Editor
Dan is a writer, performer, and scholar. His journalism credits include articles and reviews for Stagebill, West Side Spirit, Our Town, In Theater, Theatre Journal, and Backstage.com. He is the former artistic director of Peeling, an Asian-American performance collective. He holds a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University, where he is an adjunct faculty member in the Undergraduate Drama Department.
Barbara and Scott Siegel

Barbara and Scott are the authors of 46 books, including The Encyclopedia of Hollywood and American Film Comedy. They are columnists for Back Stage and Cabaret Hotline Online, and they report on movies, theater, and cabaret on more than 100 radio stations across the U.S., including the "Siegel Entertainment Hour" on the Talk America Radio Network. They wrote the "New York/New York Column" for Drama-Logue for six years and two columns for InTheater. They have contributed to several newspapers and magazines, including The Bergen Record, The Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, and The International Film Journal. Scott produces the "Broadway by the Year" series at Town Hall and directs the Town Hall Film Seminar Series. Barbara is on the board of the Drama Desk organization and serves as a member of its nominating committee. Barbara and Scott are members of the Outer Critics Circle and The Broadcast Film Critics Association. For the last 10 years, they have directed the CUE Summer Film Festival at Queens College.
David Finkle

David is a freelance journalist whose beat is theater, music, dance, movies and books. He has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Nation, The New York Post, Newsday, Harper's Bazaar, Mirabella, Saturday Review, and Publishers Weekly. He contributes regularly to the Village Voice, Back Stage and the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he is a frequent commentator on politics. His weekly book column, "Easy Reading," appears in The Trenton Times. A songwriter and performer, David was one-third of the award-winning cabaret trio Weeden, Finkle and Fay. WF&F also ran a business providing corporate entertainment to many Fortune 500 companies. David has also taught journalism at Fordham.
