Frances Ruffelle, Amanda Seyfried, Colm Wilkinson Join Cast of Les Miserables Film

Ruffelle, who originated the role of Eponine in London and later played the part on Broadway, will appear in the "Lovely Ladies" sequence of the movie. Wilkinson, who originated the role of Jean Valjean in London and subsequently appeared among the original Broadway cast, will play the role of the Bishop of Digne, Seyfried, as had been previously rumored, will play Cosette.
As previously reported, the film's confirmed cast also includes Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, and Aaron Tveit as Enjolras. Taylor Swift has been given the role of Eponine, according to some published reports.
Rufelle won a Tony award for her work in Les Miserables and is currently appearing in Pippin at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London. Among Seyfried's other film credits are the movie version of the musical Mamma Mia!. Wilkinson received a Theatre World Award and a Tony nomination as Valjean, with other credits including the title role of The Phantom of the Opera in Toronto.
