WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
PERFORMANCES AT THE LYCEUM BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 7.
Critically acclaimed as "90 minutes of good, kinky, fun!" by The New York Times, Venus in Fur makes its Broadway premiere at MTC. Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda in her phenomenal breakout performance as 'Vanda,' is a preternaturally talented young actress determined to land the lead in a new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Her emotionally charged audition for Thomas (Hugh Dancy), the play's adapter/director, becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex. This dazzling new play is written by theatrical mastermind David Ives, and directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie. Venus in Fur had its world premiere at Classic Stage Company.
Student Rush
When available, student rush tickets may be purchased in person at the Friedman box office on the day of the performance. Tickets are $27.00, which includes a $2.00 facility fee. Limit two tickets per valid student ID.

Two exceptional performers -- Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy -- square off like prize fighters in David Ives' Venus in Fur, playing at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway. Directed by Walter Bobbie (who reprises his work from the play's Off-Broadway debut at Classic Stage Company early in 2010), the two-hander once again proves to be a delectable exploration of how the balance of power shifts during a young woman's audition for a new play that's based on what some consider to be an erotic classic, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's Venus in Furs.
